Drop Shipping is a supply chain management when retailers don’t keep goods in stock but instead send orders and shipment details to a manufacturer who ships the goods to the customers.
It requires less order fulfillment costs as it releases merchants from tracking, labeling and shipping operations. Moreover, it helps to cut the cost of inventory as it reduces the stock. Own warehouse is one of the biggest eCommerce expenses. In one word, it’s beneficial to use it at least for certain items.
Our client has an opportunity to drop-ship items of the brand “N”. When the client receives an order, he creates a CSV file and sends it to the manufacturer. The problem is that he has to do it manually.
It usually takes a lot of time because when managers receive an order, they should find it in the catalog, create a CSV file, complete it with all the necessary products and shipping details. We were asked to automate this process.
We made a module that generates these CSV files automatically when customers order items of the particular brand. Then it sends this file to a manager who sends it to the manufacturer for further delivery. This module searches the necessary items by SKU and the “brand” attribute.
This module successfully works for Magento 1. At the moment we’re developing the same module for Magento 2.
Product batches are essential for retailers who sell wallpapers, fabrics, floor coverings, plastic panels, etc. Products of different batches can slightly differ from each other. That’s why it’s important to buy products from one batch. Our client asked us to find a solution that will track the number of goods from a certain batch. It would significantly optimize order processing and reduce human labor costs.
Batches “Sensitive” products are wallpapers, fabrics, floor coverings, plastic panels, etc. It’s better to buy products from one batch as these products may differ from one batch to another. For example, they may have some difference in color, size, texture, etc.
These differences are unimportant at the manufacturing step, but they can be noticeable in real life. For example, when people hang wallpapers from different batches in one room. Most likely it may disappoint and frustrate customers after a purchase.
Moreover, retailers were always calling the client’s managers and asking if the products were from one batch or not. If they were from different ones, managers were updating product pages manually.
We’ve customized the product pages and added the option of choosing the product batch. If there aren’t enough items, customers will see a notification message and available quantity for each batch.
We’ve built the module with the following features:
- new Batches section on a product page;
- number of products from the same batch;
- notification message for customers;
- stock and Batches section update after purchasing;
- attributes set selection for adding Batches section.
Product samples are the undisputed offline store advantage over online stores. This is what helps the customers to make a purchasing decision.
If an online store can offer customers product samples it will help to stand out the competitors and win more clients. That’s why we’ve developed a module that allows merchants to send product samples.
Our client launched Magento 1 store. The problem was that there was no any Product Sample out-of-box functionality.
However, product samples are essential for shops that sell cosmetics, fabrics, wallpapers, perfumes, etc. because customers can touch fabrics and wallpapers, smell perfumes, try lipstick or creme at brick and mortar shops.
That’s why numerous stores offer product samples to make customers buy more in the future. With the help of our Sample Product module for Magento online stores can offer the same service for clients.
We’ve developed a module which allows customers to order product sample just like a simple item. It can be done for a certain price or free.
This module adds “Order Samples” button on a product page. When a customer presses it, Product Sample goes to the shopping cart. An admin can check it in the “orders” grid. He will see an SKU and its attributes. You may offer samples for free, or set a price for them – whatever you decide.
Sample Product Module Features:
- any price for your samples;
- one sample product for all attribute sets;
- sample products for a certain attribute set;
- paid or free samples shipping.
Managing dealers network can be a hard nut to crack. Especially, when you have hundreds of dealers scattered around the world. Moreover, each dealer has its offers, pricing and stock. It complicates the dealer management process.
Our team was asked to develop a solution that could optimize this process. We developed a module that made dealer management less time-consuming and more convenient.
One of our clients has an extremely wide network of dealers. Every dealer has its terms: pricing, stock, and offers. The client needed a feature that would allow dividing dealers’ orders by their terms of cooperation automatically. The client also asked us to provide exclusive access to certain dealers for promotion campaigns.
We developed a module that helped the client to cut costs on managing dealers network managing. All data is stored in one place and a manager can easily get the necessary information what makes the process faster.
- access can be granted on a country level (one or more countries);
- access can be granted to specific users (it is exclusive rights);
- exclusive categories can be hidden from certain users;
- hide catalog for non-registered users;
- advanced user’s grid to access dealers with exclusive rights quickly.
Inventory management is one of the biggest eCommerce headaches. If you do not pay enough attention to it, it will cost you a pretty penny.
If inventory management is badly centralized the risks of purchase returns increase. We’ve managed to develop a special tracker that warns admins if a wrong item is going to be sent.
Our client had a lot of the same goods but with different SKU and UPC. It was time-consuming to check every item before its packaging. Every package should match the order not to send the wrong one item.
How inventory management faults can affect business:
- bad reputation among clients;
- extra expenses;
- the discrepancy between the real quantity of products at stock and at Magento store;
- wrong accounting data.
Our solution cuts time on inventory management. We’ve developed a module that tracks all the orders and warns admin if a wrong item is going to be sent.
That’s how it works. Open admin area and enter the order’s number in the special field (Verify order). Then you’ll get a list of items that should be packed. After that, you enter SKU or UPC of the item that you need to send and the tool will show you if this item matches order or not.
You may enter information manually or use a barcode scanner. If entered data matches the order, you’ll see a message that the order is verified and a special verification label on the order page.
