KT Exclusive is the largest luxury wallcoverings and decorative materials manufacturer in Germany. The company has a wide dealers network: more than 120 partners in 44 countries of the world! It has warehouses in US, Europe and Asia.
2 major factors were influencing the development of the project:
- huge dealers network;
- operations that don’t fit well with web sales.
Each member of KT Exclusive dealer network has individual partnership terms, as well as a predefined set of SKUs that he has access to. Some dealers have the privilege to buy products at a special price and some have an exclusive access to some catalogs in their country. It takes a lot of manual work for orders to be processed: checking user’s status, collaboration terms, product price calculating, inventory stocks. The new dealers’ online store that we have built became a life-saving tool, that automizes all these steps. It allows providing exclusive access to certain products and categories for users and users’ groups. With magento we were able to cut 85% of order processing time.
We also provided solutions to a retail online store. The biggest challenge was to bring offline visitors to the online shop and convert them to buyers. Luxury wallcoverings – it’s a product that is usually chosen considering its tactile experience, as well as color tone and design match to an interior. And this is what online shops can’t provide by default.
A solution to this challenge has been found in sample products. We’ve developed new product type with its own attributes set, configured shipping and price rules, checkout, catalog and product pages. Now users can get product samples in 2 days and make the right choice, without even leaving a home, which gives us a huge advantage among other offline and online shops.
